Elektronic ignition adapter kit for Wartburg 353 and Barkas – Two stroke engine.
Repacement part for the original contact braker ignition system.
Assembly
The old modul has to be removed. The new electronic kit must to be put in, in such way, that the contact lips face to the outside.
The pre ignition and positioning grooves determine the correct position of the modul.
The loose cableends have to be attached (bolted) to the M 14 stud.
Beside the first cable (input) must the power be run from each single ignition coil with a 0,5 to 1 mm2 diameter to the 6,3 mmsliding contact of the base plate. To secure the cables use insulating tape or wire ties.
The plastic ring (which is in the kit) slides on the excentric shaft that the groove points face to the outside. Because of the shape of the ring, there is no other way to attach the ring.
(see photo)
Push the ring to the very end.It remains a distance of approx. 0,5mm. In case of apperance of bur on the shaftn the bur has to be removed. Then clamp the ring on the shaft. Tighten the bolt to secure the ring, but be careful the plastic ring can brake.
